Wisconsin’s Driftless region is among the world’s most beautiful country, offering excellent trout fishing. With literally thousands of miles of trout streams, there is no shortage of water to fish.
The Guide will provide transportation for the day. Fishing locations depend on conditions, the time of year, and skill level. Many locations are within 45 minutes of Madison, but others are farther. Drive time will depend on conditions and your schedule.
Early-season (April - early June) trout fishing is much more accessible than later in the season when the banks are overgrown with grass and other plants. So, keep that in mind when thinking about when to book your trip.

Customer Reviews
See what our clients say about their fly fishing experiences with us.
Carson taught me to cast a fly rod at Vilas Park in Madison. I landed my first fish on a fly rod shortly thereafter, a bluegill. A few weeks later, we visited a driftless trout stream, and I got a good feel for the challenge of trout fishing. Carson has an easygoing teaching style and a knack for making fly fishing fun, even for the most novice of novices.

Capt. Carson took me to a beautiful section of a local river to fish for carp. It was my first time trying to catch carp with a fly rod. We motored for about 15 minutes to find a mulberry tree loaded with ripe berries. Carp were eating them off the surface; I had never seen that before. Carson got us in close with the boat, and after several casts, I finally got one to take our foam mulberry imitation. It was a great time. Highly recommended!
